I just downloaded the GTA V setup tool from the social club and installed it (and re-installed it), however when I run it from my desktop it loads itself up but then gives me a message saying that 'The Social Club failed to load due to an incomplete installation (code 4). Please exit the game and re-install the latest version of the Social Club:' and links to a support article which I apparently don't have access to. Anyone know how to solve this problem? I want to start pre-loading it as soon as possible. I got a response on my ticket and they replied with: Hello Michiel, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. The most common cause for these errors is an incorrect installation of the Social Club. If you are receiving one of these errors, we recommend uninstalling Social Club and then reinstalling it manually from this page.
When installing the second time:. First, be sure GTAV is not running in the background. Open the Task Manager and end the following processes if they are running (right click the process and click “End Process”):.
GTA5.exe. PlayGTAV.exe. GTAVLauncher.exe. Ensure you have administrator rights on your computer. Run the Social Club Installation application as an administrator by right clicking the application and choosing 'Run as Administrator.' If you are still experiencing the same problem, please try the additional troubleshooting below:.
Verify the Steam Cache (Steam version only):. Load Steam. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
Run GTAV as an Administrator. Go to the install directory for GTAV PC. Right click, “PlayGTAV.exe”. Click “Run as Administrator”. Verify that you have the latest version of DirectX and Visual C. The latest versions can be downloaded from here. If you are stuck loading, auto-sign in may have failed.
Press the Home key and see if you can log in manually. Temporarily disable antivirus/security, then uninstall if disabling does not work as a test. Be sure to reinstall and re-enable your antivirus after the test. Make sure that the Social Club installs to the correct directory (by default, this is: Program Files Rockstar Games Social Club) If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Best regards, Martha K. Rockstar Support Personally i think the problem might because due it wanting to installing it on my C drive, but i have set up my windows it default installs on my HDD, my E drive. And then when it goes looking for social club on my C drive, it cant find it and therefore says there has been an error during the installation. I have a similar dual-drive configuration with Windows installed on C:/ but the default install location for programs being on D:/. It seems to break certain programs in ways which make no sense whatsoever as if they're hard-coded to look in the drive the OS is installed on as opposed to the drive that my registry says they should look. By the way, michiel, you might want to change the font colour in your post, I could only read the last bit by highlighting it Tokthree I think I'm having the same exact problem you had. My OS is installed on an ssd on my C drive and my default program install is on my h drive, my storage drive.

Can you give more details? I installed it on another computer and patched it all the way until it started to download the game itself.
I then closed it, deleted any actual game files that were downloaded, transferred the entire GTAV folder over to my main PC and then pasted it over my installation on that computer. You will have to do this every time Social Club updates as well, as the 53MB patch on launch last night taught me. To clarify you need the Rockstar Games folder without any of the game files in it and an up-to-date Social Club folder in it, as the pictures will show; Inside of the Grand Theft Auto V folder should look like this; Other than those files you should have nothing else.
